Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 26, 2026

Dok-Tor Harddrive Inc. respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and when you contact us, how we use it, and how we protect it. We follow Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada’s federal privacy law (PIPEDA).

What we collect

When you fill out our contact or support form, book a consultation, email us, text us or call us, we collect what you give us: usually your name, business name, email address, phone number and a description of what you need help with.

Like most websites, this site also collects basic, non-identifying information about visits, such as pages viewed, the type of device and browser used, and general location (city or region). We use Google Analytics, through Google Site Kit, to do this. It uses small files called cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work.

Our contact and support forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam. It checks that a real person is filling in the form, and to do that it may collect basic technical information such as your browser type and IP address.

How we use it

We use your information to reply to you, provide the help or services you asked for, schedule appointments, send invoices, and keep records of the work we do for you. We use visit information only to understand how the site is used and to improve it.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not send marketing emails unless you’ve asked us to.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the services we use to run our business, and only as much as they need to do their job. These include our website host, our email service, our video call services (Microsoft Teams and Google Meet), our spam protection (Cloudflare), and our remote support software. Some of these services may store information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

When we work on your systems

During remote or onsite support, we may see information stored on your computers or network. We access only what we need to do the work you’ve asked for, we keep it confidential, and remote sessions happen only with your permission.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the reasons above, or as long as the law requires, for example for tax and business records. After that, we delete or securely destroy it.

How we protect it

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including secure connections, password protection and limited access. No system is perfectly secure, but we take the same care with your information that we take with our clients’ systems.

Your choices

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we’re allowed to. You can also withdraw your consent to our use of it, which may affect the services we can provide.
