Password Strength Check

Type a password to see roughly how long it would take someone to crack it. Everything happens on your own screen. Nothing you type is sent anywhere or saved.

Or try an example:
–rating
–to crack offline, if a site's password list is stolen

Make it stronger

  • Use a passphrase: four or more random words, like coulee-hail-tractor-sundog. Long beats complicated.
  • Never reuse a password. If one site leaks, criminals try it everywhere.
  • Use a password manager so you only remember one strong password.
  • Turn on two-step verification for email, banking and anything with your money or files.

Is your business protected?

Passwords are one piece. Dok-Tor Harddrive helps Lethbridge businesses with security checkups, backups and protection, in plain language, since 1990.

This is a rough estimate. It assumes a fast attacker making 10 billion guesses a second against a stolen password list, and it knows some common words and patterns, not every one. A password that rates "strong" here can still be stolen by a fake login page, so stay alert to phishing.
